CHERAW -- Mrs. Demby, age 78, died Sunday, August 12, 2007.
Funeral service is 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at First Southern Methodist Church, Cheraw, SC. Interment in Chatham Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield, SC.
Mrs. Demby was born in Pageland, SC, a daughter of the late William Harley Evans and Mildred Robinson Evans Travis. She was a retired office clerk with Chesterfield General Hospital. Mrs. Demby was a member of First Southern Methodist Church, where she served as a former Sunday school teacher and was a member of the WMS. She was married to the late James W. Demby.
Survivors include four daughters, Sue D. (Jim) Funderburk of Cheraw, SC, Debbie D. (Hubert) Wright of Wadesboro, NC, Marilyn D. (Danny) Caulder of Cheraw, SC, and Teresa D. (Fred) Ward of Raleigh, NC; six brothers, Max, Ted, Coy, Ernie, Don, and Ben Evans all of Pageland, SC; four sisters, Loree Langley and Yvonne Strawn, both of Pageland, SC, Bonnie Harpe of Statesville, NC, and Jean Rhodes of Rutherfordton, NC; seven grandchildren, Jay (Janet) Wright and Jeff (Sharon) Wright of Wadesboro, NC, Jennifer Caulder of Cheraw, SC, Stacy (Tim) Kephart of Rock Hill, SC, Jessica Kelly of Winterville, NC, Scott Kelly of Wilmington, NC, and Susan Funderburk of Columbia, SC; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Caleb, Abigail, Andrew, Benjamin, and Lillian Mae Wright all of Wadesboro, NC, and Zack Caulder of Cheraw, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.
