Eddie Landers Obituary

Eddie Landers 2-1-44 to 12-16-05 Eddie, the love of my life left this earth today but he will be in my heart forever, as he will in the hearts of all who love him. He was born at 12:10 p.m., on February 1, 1944, in Wetumka, Oklahoma to his loving parents, Sidney and Dorothy (Meek) Landers. Eddie has millions of friends (this may not be an accurate number but close) and he was a friend that they could all count on to do anythinganytime. He will be so missed. Eddie came into my life in 1968. We had a few dates and decided that we wanted to be together for the rest of our lives. We got married on April 18, 1969. The time has been too short! Eddie has worked in the Oklahoma City area since graduating from Prague High School in 1961. He worked and retired from Safeway Distribution Center, Oklahoma City, then worked as a Business Agent and organizer for Teamsters Local 886 in Oklahoma City and El Paso, Texas. This was the Fun job for him! After retiring from Local 886 he has been busy working as a Mobile Notary for AMR Notary (He just could not slow down). He served in the Army from 1966-1968. He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughter Jana Thompson; granddaughter Allie Thompson; sister Carolyn Hancock; niece Terri and husband Keith Cleghorn; nephews Deward Hancock and Will Crisp, and many other close family members and friends. He is preceded in death by our precious daughter Claudia Cairns, his parents Dorothy and Sidney Landers and his sister, Darline. We can't imagine life without Eddie. He was always the life of the party, the go to guy when you needed something done yesterday, the good neighbor and much, much more. This is not goodbye, this is just until we all see you again in heaven. Loving Family and Friends. Services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2005, at 12:10 p.m, at Vondel Smith North, 13125 N. MacArthur, Oklahoma.

I had the pleasure of working both as a Teamster and much later, as a company labor representative with Eddie. He was a great man and his wit and insight will be deeply missed.
