Brett, Carrie, Dallas, and James,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom passing away. Candy Wynn was the best friend I ever had and I loved your mother like a sister. I will cherish the many memories she and I made over the years while sitting up late at night doing ceramics in her shop, “The Hens Nest”, going to the movies, watching a video at her house with a cold Margarita, going to the art museums to check out Erte, (our favorite artist) or shopping at the Mall turning over the merchandise trying to find a bargain, and of course driving to the city to eat at Los Taco, but most of all, both of us watching our kids grow up and become something that we were both proud of.
I am so thankful we were able to connect by phone on July the 4th one last time before she died.
We talked for an hour and a half about the past 13 years we missed out on. She filled me in and made me laugh; cry and we made plans to go out to eat sometime this week. I regret the fact now we will never do that?
She was the only woman I knew who truly was a gypsy at heart; she loved people, never met a stranger. She was proud of all of you kids and mentioned how well all of you were doing and her grand kids being the best thing in the world. She was the rock that kept your family together and she will live on in our hearts. I will miss her smile, laughter and sense of humor that only a few people really understood.
May God lift you up in this time of loss and keep you strong.
Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up..
Jobs come and go. Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break. Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors. Careers end.
BUT......... Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by
yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you...Or come in and carry you out. Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers,
aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn't be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.
Candy Rest in Peace.
Love you always
