EULA TAYLOR Obituary

January 19, 1923 - May 29, 2017 YUKON Eula Mae Taylor, 94, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, joined her beloved husband in heaven on May 29th at Ranchwood Nursing Center in Yukon, OK. Eula, or as most people knew her, Duffy, was born on January 19th, 1923 to W.L. and Mina (Shew) Duff in Hobart, OK. Duffy married James M. Taylor (Jim) of Sentinel, OK on September 30th, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona on their way to Los Angeles, California, where Jim was to report for the Air Force Cadets. Jim was soon sent overseas, so Duffy did what she could to help the war effort by working as a riveter at Lockheed Martin near LA. Later, the couple returned to Hobart, Oklahoma, where their son, James Dale, was born on March 13, 1945. Their daughter, Susan Kay, was born April 11th, 1951 in San Antonio, TX, and their second son, Mitchell Lane, was born August 16th, 1957 in El Paso, Texas. As an Air Force Officer's wife, Duffy had the opportunity to see the world with her family; they lived in France, Greece, and all over the United States. However, her favorite place was always home: Oklahoma. That's why, in 1970, the fun-loving, social couple retired in Oklahoma City. They started a successful real-estate company, where Duffy used her impeccable social graces as their main agent. She used her lesser social graces to school everyone in Canasta, Dominoes, Apples to Apples, and pretty much any other game she played.Prominent members in their church, Village Baptist in OKC, they taught Sunday School and led the Senior Citizen Program. They helped plan trips, from local fishing weekends to multiple weeks in foreign countries; they sang in the choir, helped put on Christmas performances, and more.Duffy enjoyed vacations and seeing the world. She enjoyed games, planning parties, telling stories, laughing, and making other people laugh. She was fun. She was beautiful. And she made up half of what might have been the best team in the world. Although she will be missed, her family is encouraged to know that amazing team is now reunited forever. Here's hoping Heaven is ready!Duffy is survived by her children (James Taylor and Barbara, Susan Hester, and Mitchell and Bettye Taylor), her grandchildren (Denise Waggoner, Darian Taylor, John Marchi, Jamie Marchi, Daniel Taylor, Jean-Luc Hester, Reade Wilson, and Harrison Wilson), and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband (Jim), sisters (Elizabeth & Erma Grace), brother (Lawrence), and son-in-law (Michael Rene Hester).Services will be at 2 pm on Friday, June 2, 2017, at McNeil's Funeral Service, 525 W. Highway 152, Mustang, OK 73064. Burial will be immediately following at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 Northwest Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.Ecclesiastes 3: 1, 4 - "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under Heaven? a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance." Let us take comfort in that, while we mourn our loss, Jim and Duffy are dancing again.Online condolences may be made at: www.mcneilsfuneral.com
