HAZEL CALE Obituary

July 27, 1923 - Feb. 3, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY February 3, 2017, brought to a close 93 years of a life well lived for Hazel D. Cale as she went to be with her Lord. She was born July 27, 1923, in Wewoka, OK to Frances (Tucker) and Harold Kabrich. Married to the love of her life, Troy Cale, for 54 years, Hazel was an Army wife for 26 years, and she & Troy traveled extensively. She was active in the wives club events at each place they were stationed. After retiring, Troy and Hazel bowled for 30 years in a retired league, and she also bowled in a ladies league for a number of years. Hazel was a member of the YMCA and did water aerobics three times a week with the "Bathing Beauties." She was a Red Hat Lady for a short period of time and was the Queen of the "Hot Toddies." Hazel was an active lady and made friends wherever she went and will always be remembered for her hats. She had one for every occasion, especially OU as she was an avid Sooners fan! Hazel was a member of St. Andrew's Methodist Church in her later years. Preceding her in death were her husband, Troy; grandson, Michael; parents; and her sister. Hazel is survived by her son, Gary Cale and wife Kadriye; daughter, Candy Fox; and numerous grand and great- grandchildren. Services to celebrate Hazel's life will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, in the Chapel at Resthaven. Visitation will be on Wednesday, 1-8 p.m. with family present 5-7 p.m. Services have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens. www.ResthavenOKC.com
