James Waggoner Obituary

James Linn Waggoner, 57, born June 29, 1952, went to be with the Lord on the morning of Fri., Jan. 8, 2010, following a heroic battle with cancer. Jimmy, "Wag" Waggoner was born and raised in OKC & married the love of his life & high school sweetheart, Carla Harris, on June 8, 1973, with whom he shared 36 devoted years of marriage. Jimmy and Carla relocated to Tuttle in 1978. He served as an OKC Firefighter for 27 years before retiring in June 2002 as a lieutenant & was an active member & Deacon at Emmaus Baptist Church. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Walter Waggoner, also a retired OKC Firefighter. He is survived by his loving wife, Carla Waggoner; son, Chris Waggoner & wife Erin; daughter, Amy Taylor and husband Justin; & son, Stephen Waggoner & wife Becca; his caring mother, Jacqueline Waggoner; sisters: Janice Phillips & husband Gary, JoAnne Wolcott & husband Rick; he is the uncle to six nephews & three nieces. Jimmy was an amazing Papa to 5 adoring grandchildren: Christina, Dylan, Abigail, Ashlee and Addyson; his "brothers and friends," the firefighters of OKC. To all those who were lucky to have known him, Jimmy was a loving husband, devoted father & beloved "Papa" who will be greatly missed. Visitation today, 12 noon-8 PM, & Mon., 4-8 PM, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Mon., at the funeral home. Services 1:00 PM, Tues., at Emmaus Baptist Church, 16001 S. Western. We have had the pleasure of knowing The pride of Jame Waggoner, and that is his son Chriss and his daughter in law Aaron Waggoner. When you know the son of a man you know the best of the man. May God bless the family and all those that will miss him. JoAnn and I will always be here to help Chriss and his family
