Jan. 19, 1934 - Jan. 26, 2019 MIDWEST CITY Jeff Hamilton made his transition on Jan. 26, 2019. He was born Jan. 19, 1934, the only child of Walker J. & Floriene Hooten Hamilton in Dallas, TX. He grew up in Kansas City, MO. He attended Phillips University and Yale University Divinity School, where he received his professional degree in theology. He subsequently studied at St. Andrews University, Scotland. His professional career included service as a campus minister during the 1960s in New York, West Virginia and Ohio; retail management with Langston's Department Stores 1973 to 1986; four terms in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from Midwest City 1986 to 1994; and over 20 years as Associate Minister at First Christian Church, OKC. Hamilton was active in the OKC community, serving as chair of the Oklahoma County Democratic Party, President of the Interfaith Alliance Foundation of Oklahoma and Chair of the SKIL Advisory Committee at Youth Services for Oklahoma County. He is survived by his wife, Wanda K. Fisher; and her son, Bobby Fisher. He is also survived by his three children, Debra Havenar, Chris Hamilton, and Dr. Stephen Hamilton; numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pivot or the Interfaith Alliance Foundation. The Memorial Services to remember Jeff will be held Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019, 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church, 3700 N. Walker, Oklahoma City.
