JERRY MCNABB Obituary

October 5, 1945 - March 17, 2013 LEXINGTON Chief Master Sgt. Jerry Ray McNabb, Retired, age 67, of Norman, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, in Norman, Oklahoma. He was born October 5, 1945 in Lexington, Oklahoma to Homer L., born in Bairdstown, Texas, and Fay (Skaggs), born in Stratford Indian Territory, McNabb. Jerry was united in marriage on June 14, 1972 in Valdosta, Georgia to Virginia Walker. Jerry entered into active duty with the United States Air Force on June 1, 1966 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His tours of duty were in Europe and the Philippines and two remote tours in Turkey before retiring in June, 1996 after 30 years of service. Jerry was a member of the Southwestern Quartet. He was a basketball player in high school and college. Jerry was an avid reader and enjoyed singing and sports, especially OU football. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Virginia McNabb of 40 years; step-daughter, Cynthia Walker; brother, James L. McNabb and his wife, June, of Norman; two sisters, Nora Ellen Kimball and husband, Richard, of Port Orchard, Washington and Glenna L Millsap and husband, Troy, of Norman; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Memorial contributions may be made to: The Stephenson Cancer Center, 800 Northeast 10th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, 2013 and 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, in the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home, 3401 Havenbrook Street in Norman. Burial will conclude at the Hillside Cemetery in Purcell, Oklahoma. Arrangements for Jerry and his family were placed in the care of the Vice family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman.
