John Wesley Pugh
Nov. 10, 1951 - Nov. 18, 2020
John Wesley Pugh, affectionately referred to as Johnny, passed from this life on the 18th of Nov. Born in OKC to Jack F. and Mildred Pugh, he grew up in Britton and The Village. Johnny attended Andrew Johnson ES, St. John's Military School in Salina, KS; John Marshall HS; and the College for Recording Arts in San Fran, CA. John retired from the State Department of Mines after 29 years as a Mine Inspector & Hearing Officer. He loved family, friends; his Border Collie, Zoe; Lake Tenkiller, Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler and all things Old Britton. John held a lifelong passion for music, geology, and loved to cook!
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Mildred; and his brother, Edward J Pugh. Surviving John are his significant other, Marguerite "Gretchen" Ann Mendus; sister-in-law, Shirley A Thurman; cousin, Byron Pugh; The Eckels Cousins, Janie, Bob, Chris, Mary, Margy, Nini, and Rich. Special thanks to all the John Marshall Bears.
Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring or Summer 2021.

Johnny Pugh was a friend. A friend from junior high at John Marshall, although not seeing each other that often, seeing him was like you talked to him yesterday. Last time I saw him was at Ann's Chicken Fry when I was there with a group of high school friends, and I saw him sitting across the room and recognized him, about that time he looked at me & we both got up and met in the middle of the room and hugged like long lost friends. You were a friend Johnny. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of Our Lord & Savior.
