John Tepper

John Charles Tepper born in Winchendon, MA on 11-01-1950. Died at home in OKC on 11-22-2009. Son of Florence Eileen and Stanley Tepper, John grew up in Orange, MA until he joined the Navy in 1968 and worked as a cook on the USS Bolster Salvage Ship John has lived in OKC since his retirement from the Navy and following a debilitating tractor accident in 1976 which left him paralyzed and without speech. Not one to give up, John was determined to walk and talk again and accomplished his goal through excellent therapy at the OKC VA. He has proved a charming and loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin. His quick laugh and generosity to all will be missed by his family as well as his many, many friends. John was preceded in death by his father in 1990 and his mother last month. His devastated survivors include his sister Patti Tepper-Rasmussen (OKC), brothers Michael Tepper (NH), Laurence Tepper (AZ), brother-in-law Andy Tepper-Rasmussen, sisters-in-law Ann Kennedy Tepper and Rose Morrill, nieces and spouses Megan and Jeremy Sokolnicki, Tracey and Julio Molinari, nephews and spouses Michael Vincent and Kirstie Tepper, Kirk and Karie Tepper, and Michael Tepper-Rasmussen, grand niece Sabrina and grand nephews Giulio and Logan Stanley, along with hundreds of Tepper and Hogencamp cousins back in New England. All our hearts are broken as he beat the odds in so many ways with his grit and determination, only to be taken away so young. Services are pending. Interment will be in Littleton, MA.
