EDMOND Joye, 83, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2012. She was born Oct. 8, 1928 in Shawnee, OK to Grady & Delores Dewbre. A graduate of Capitol Hill HS, Joye met the love of her life Jim Young & together shared 60 years of marriage. They were longtime members of Hillcrest Christian Church where she served as secretary & on the Board of Directors before later moving to First Christian Church in OKC. In the 60's, Joye & Jim owned Davis & Iron Furniture Co. She attended 5 different colleges to obtain her degree in accounting, while working in the oil & gas & construction industry and served as an officer in the National Women in Construction. After retiring, Joye moved to Edmond to be close to her family. Joye had a passion for playing Bridge, loved attending North Church with her family, and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren and supporting the Country Music Singers Assoc. & Rodeo Opry. She loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, especially her great granddaughters. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Jim Louis Young, Sr.; grandson, Jason Young; and niece, Amy Dewbre Hill. She leaves cherished memories with her daughter, Teri Newby & husband Cole of Edmond, OK; son, Jim L. Young, Jr. of Shawnee, OK; brother, Kenneth Dewbre & wife Elizabeth of Moore; 5 grandchildren, Trasy Newby Barnett & husband, Jeff, Colton Newby, Cameron Newby, Paul Young, & Adam Young, all of Edmond, OK; great grandchildren, Ashtynn & Dilynn Barnett; and countless other loving & cherished family & friends who adored her. Joye requested that memorials be made to: The Jan Barton Scholarship Fund, c/o CMSA, 5916 Megans Way, Edmond, OK 73034. Viewing will be today at the funeral home from 4-8 PM with the family greeting friends from 6-8 PM. Services to celebrate her life will be held 10 AM Friday, July 13, 2012 at the South Lakes Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Cem. Friends may leave condolences at
