JUDITH GUNDY Obituary

Judith Ann Gundy
December 1, 1942 - August 2, 2020

MIDWEST CITY
On August 2, 2020, Judith Gundy, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmot-her, passed away at the age of 77. Judith Ann Gundy was born on December 1, 1942 in Flint, Michi-gan. Judy, as she was known by her friends and family, was the daughter of Mary Jane Case and Wilford J. DeShano. On November 16, 1962, she married her love, Ray Lynn Gundy. Within those 57 years of marriage, they raised three children: Kari, Mike and Cale. Judy's passion in life was her family. You could often find Judy holding one of her many good luck charms at a sporting event cheering on kids and grandkids. She lived out her life's purpose by pouring her love and kindness into others. "Believe" was a family word that she bestowed upon her loved ones and "Believe" will continue to be part of her legacy. Judy will be significantly missed by all who loved and knew her. Judy was preceded in death by both of her parents, Mary and Wilford; and her sister, Suzy (Joy) DeShano. She is survived by her husband, Ray; daughter, Kari and husband Jimmy; sons: Mike and wife Kristen, and Cale and wife Kristi; granddaughters: Savannah, Karolyne, Madisyn, Caitlin, Lillie; grandsons: Gavin, KC, Gunnar, Gage, Derek, Lorenzo; and great grandkids: Jaxsyn, Gabriella, Kash; and her fur babies: Molly, Abby and Kitty. A viewing will be held at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home, 1820 S. Douglas Blvd., Midwest City, OK 73130 on Thursday, August 6, 2020, from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm with family from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm.

We remember Judy Gundy and her family. Although we didn't know her personally, our son went to school at Midwest City and was friends with Mike, Cale, Kari and Jim Long. They were a wonderful family and so proud of their children. We send our sincere condolences to her family and friends. I know Midwest City and everyone that loved her will never be the same. May God bless each of you and give you comfort and healing.

Judy and I have known each other since high school. We may have not seen each other’s in years, but when we did see each other we picked up from where we left off she was a wonderful person. We enjoyed football games and our out of town trips with Ray and Judy when Cale played at OU! We love her family like our own. Rest In Peace sweet lady! You will be missed!

In 1995 I was principal at Midwest City High School. One day my secretary said I had a phone call from Judy Gundy. My first thought was, "What trouble am I in now?" That phone call turned out to be the most complimentary, positive one I received during my tenure at MCHS. I remember the call to this day and will never forget what it meant to me. Mrs. Gundy was one of the greatest matriarch's of many great Bomber famillies during MCHS' long and storied history. She has been on our Sunday School's prayer list for some time. I pray for peace and strengthening for her family. May this wonderful lady RIP.
