KAREN MULLINS Obituary

May 20, 1947 - May 24, 2014 CONYERS, GA Karen Mullins was called Home Saturday, May 24 after a five-month extension from aortic aneurysm surgery. Karen constantly lived the word of Christ by helping others, standing watch over those who needed it. She was born in Oklahoma, where she worked as a secretary for many years prior to raising a family, staying awake through tornado seasons when her family and neighbors would not wake up. She guided her son, Kelly, through multiple surgeries and moved the family to Georgia in the late 80s. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Doyle Mullins, formerly of Midwest City; and Ethel Swearingen Mullins, of OKC; husbands, Jack Pugh, OKC and Conyers, GA; and L.D. Mullins, of Los Angeles, CA; aunts, Lois Mullins Hardy and Audra Mitchell Hearn, of Midwest City; uncles, Hall Mitchell and Herbert Hardy, of Midwest City; and Bud Swearingen, formerly of Tulsa. She was also predeceased by in-laws, Weldon Pugh and Edna Arnold Pugh, of OKC. Karen is survived by her two sons, Denzil Pugh and Kelly Pugh; and daughter-in-law, Suzanne Cowan Pugh; all currently of Conyers, GA; aunt, Myrt Swearingen, of East Wenatchee, WA; and cousins, Anne Hardy Payne, of Orange, TX; Thomas Hardy Payne, of League City, TX; Steven Timothy Payne, of Bronx, NY; Anita Mullins Nelson, of Midwest City; and cousin, Mary Swearingen, of Tulsa. My dear first cousin, as the only children in the N.B. Mullins clan, we were more like sisters. I remain devoted to you and will always help your two sons. I love you, Karenee.
