Larry Ganz Obituary

Funeral services for Larry D. Ganz, 61-year-old Marshall resident, will be Friday, October 12, 2001 at 2:00 P.M. in St. John's Lutheran Church, Covington, with the Reverend Jerry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the North I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Marshall under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home. Larry was born on June 1, 1940 in Marshall, Oklahoma to Edwin Victor and Valoise Irene (Roberts) Ganz and died on October 9, 2001 in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1958, where he played football. He attended Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma on a football scholarship. Following his graduation from N.O.C., he attended Central State University in Edmond on a football scholarship. Larry played semipro football for the Oklahoma City Plainsmen and the Quad City Raders. On January 27, 1968, he married Jennifer Jones in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Enid, Yukon, and Marshall, Oklahoma. Larry was a construction foreman, a truck driver, a farmer, and a salesman. He was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Covington. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Derreck J. Ganz on March 28, 1989; and one sister, Glenda O'Connor. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of the home; a son and his wife, Chris and Moriah Ganz of Enid; one daughter and her husband, Sarah and Dan Harouff of Hunter, Oklahoma; one sister and her husband, Shirley and Bobby Fox of Newcastle, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Corey, Conner, and Peighton (to be born on Saturday); nieces, nephews, and many friends.
