Lori Dawn Mahaffey
July 22, 1963 - Jan. 1, 2020
Lori Dawn Mahaffey, 56, died suddenly yet peacefully, surrounded by family, on New Year's Day, 2020. Lori was born July 22, 1963, in The Village to Bruce and Kay (Sparkman) Mahaffey. Living her entire life in The Village, Lori was a friend to anyone she met. She loved babies and children and had a special connection with them. Her mother, Kay, was her very best friend and confidant. Lori graduated from John Marshall High School and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. She started working in her teens in the oil and gas legal field for Watson, McKenzie & Moricoli, and although the firm name changed several times, she continued to work with those same attorneys for many years. She closed out her career at Enogex, again still working with some of the same attorneys. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and her father, Bruce Mahaffey. She is survived by her mother, Kay, of The Village; brother, Mark (wife Toni), of Memphis; bonus mom, Jo, of Bethany; brother, Jason (wife Kim), of Bethany; sister, Shelly (husband Cecil), of Bethany; and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly. A celebration of Lori's life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6 at Quail Springs United Methodist Church, 14617 N. Pennsylvania, OKC.
