Mary Wells Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Wells passed away Friday, January 21, 2005 at the age of 84. She was born in Guthrie, Oklahoma; grew up in Luther, OK and moved to Oklahoma City as a young adult. Singing as a soprano in community events and in the church was her life as a young adult. Mary was trained under the instruction of Evelyn LaRue Pittman, Leroy Hicks, and Kennis Wessel to name a few. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, George 'Buddy' Wells; mother Patsy Carbajal Jones, brother Albert Carbajal and grandchild Lamont McLaurin. She is survived by here sister Lucille Weaver of Kansas City, MO; brother Sylvester Carbajal & wife Eloise of Oklahoma City; three daughters Marie Moreland and Charlene Chandler & husband, Albert of OKC, Patsy Wells of California; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Grace Living Center of Edmond for their many years of support and compassionate care to Mary. Visitation will begin today, Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. through the morning before the services. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Temple and Sons Funeral Chapel, 2801 N. Kelley Ave, OKC. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Mary Elizabeth Well's name to Good Shepherd Hospice, 4350 Will Rogers Parkway, Suite 400, OKC, OK, 73108 or St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Senior Citizens Program, P.O.Box 510, Edmond, OK 73083.
