Patrick Sigmon Obituary

Dr. Patrick Harold Sigmon departed this life on Friday, December 17, 2010, to be with his Heavenly Father. Pat was born on November 12, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK to Ralph Weston and Barbara (Young) Sigmon. Pat grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1962. After completing undergraduate work in Oklahoma, Pat attended the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, where he graduated with honors in 1968. Upon graduation from dental school, Pat was commissioned into the United States Air Force and was stationed at George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, for two years. He then returned to Oklahoma in 1970 and established his dental practice in Del City, where he practiced for over forty years. Pat will be greatly missed by Susan, his beloved wife of forty-three years; and his three sons: Patrick Scott, Dr. Jason Brandt and his wife Marni, Dr. Samuel Clayton and his wife Jessica. He also leaves behind his father, Ralph Weston Sigmon; his brother, Michael Sigmon and his wife Jane; and his sister, Barbara Crandall and her husband David. Most importantly, "Pom Pom" will be missed by his five grandchildren: Jack Matthew, Adelyn Grace, Lily Marie, Mary Katherine, and Alice Elizabeth. Pat is also survived by his four nephews and close friends that were loved as family. Pat loved life and thanked God daily for his many blessings. He was passionate about his family, his friends, the game of golf, travel, cycling, the Oklahoma Sooners, time spent at his mountain home in New Mexico, and fine wine. Donations can be made in Pat's memory, if desired, to the Fretz Park Group Home, 600 N. Fretz, Edmond, OK 73003. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, at 2 pm, at All Souls' Episcopal Church in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Sigmon was my dentist when I was a teenager in the 1980s. I moved to New York City as an adult, and I have never found a dentist I trusted as much as Dr. Sigmon. I am sorry to hear that he is no longer with us. Allison Reed Lake (New York, NY)

To the Sigmon Family, I was very fortunate to have been one of Dr. Sigmon's first dental assistants, I was just starting out and he was so helpful to me as a young person.I continued to work for him for 7 yrs and he was our family dentist.I have always admired him and have shared with many people that he was the nicest dentist I have ever worked for. I watched his boys grow up and know that he was always so proud of them and spoke of them often to his patients.
My deepest sympathy and prayers.

To the Sigmon family: My most sincere thoughts and prayers to you. I have known Dr. Sigmon since 1985 and it was absolutely a great pleasure to have known and worked with him. He always welcomed me into the office on my bi-weekly visits. Sometimes we talked about new products, sometimes we talked about a needed repair on a piece of equipment, but my favorite memory of any conversation was when we got to talk about golf. I had just taken up the sport in the late eighties and always enjoyed a tip or two from Dr. Pat. I have great respect for Dr. Sigmon and will miss him.

God bless you all.
