PATSY PRICE Obituary

March 19, 1938 - December 21, 2018 NORMAN Patsy Lee Price, 80, departed from this earth Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at her home after a short struggle with lung cancer. Patsy went to Heaven to be with Jesus and her loved ones who preceded her including her son, Daniel Price; and sister-in-law, Joyce Price. Pat kept her sense of humor throughout her life, even when dealing with cancer. Pat wanted to be in Heaven before Christmas. Pat was born in Los Angeles, CA March 19, 1938, and was an only child. Her mother, Dorothy Parker, however was one of nine children. Pat met and married the love of her life, a young Marine, Ernest R. Price, of Noble, OK, through her Uncle Ronnie Parker, who had befriended him at Camp Pendleton in 1953. She was 15 and he was 17 years of age. Their friendship and love lasted nearly 65 years, "... 'til death they did part." After four years in the Marines, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Navy and became a Seabee and Pat became the faithful Navy wife, moving from station to station including Hawaii, Bermuda and Camp David. She managed to raise their two children, Daniel and Catherine, alone for long stretches of time while Ernie served three tours in Vietnam. They retired after over 34 years of military service. Her mother and all eight aunts and uncles preceded Pat in death. Of particular significance, her son, Daniel, preceded her in 1996. Daniels death gave her the pain only another mother who has lost a child can understand -- a pain that never went away. Pat was a member of Paradigm Church in Norman, attending whenever she physically could. When she became too ill to attend, many members of her church family, including Pastor Ryan Wood, visited her. Pat was a strong woman of faith in Jesus, Our Lord and Savior. We wish to thank the Norman Regional Hospital cancer unit for taking good care of her as well as Frontier Hospice for treating her with dignity and respect, especially, nurse Katelyn for her support and compassion. A big thank-you and lots of love to Carlotta and Kimberly of Mane Man 3 for showing up every Friday at her home to wash and style her and Ernie's hair for many years. Pat is survived by her husband, Ernie Price, of the home; her daughter, Cathy, and grandsons, Brian Guiddy, Jason Baker, and Anthony Guiddy, all of Kingston, OK. Dan's children, Amanda, Elizabeth, and Trevor, of Noble, also survive her. Pat was a great-grandmother to Selena and Alex Hudgins, of Norman; and a great-great-grandmother to Sophia Stephens. She will be missed by many other loved relatives and friends. Viewing will begin Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, 1 p.m. with the family greeting friends 6 to 8 p.m. Services are 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at the Chapel of Havenbrook Funeral Home in Norman, OK. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Noble, where she will be laid next to her son, Dan. Pat requested black clothing be avoided since this is a Celebration of a Life well lived.
