Pauline Hoffman-O'Neal Obituary
Oklahoma City resident, Pauline Hoffman-O'Neal, 92, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 3, 2008. She was born August 25, 1915 in Shawnee, OK. to Frank and Ida Stewart. She was next to youngest of 5 daughters. As a young girl she helped her father Frank Stewart campaign for political office. He served as County Assessor and Sheriff of Pottawatomie County Oklahoma in the 1930's. Her first husband, Haynes 'Haney' F. Hoffman, was a newspaper man. Pauline was a writer and artist. Many of her articles and stories have been published in the Daily Oklahoman, Shawnee, and Tecumseh newspapers and she wrote a book of memories about her family. After Haney died in Kansas City, MO., Pauline returned to Oklahoma City to be closer to her family. She was an Eastern Star when she met her current husband, Lloyd O'Neal at a Masonic Lodge celebration. Pauline was a member of Memorial Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Oklahoma City where her daughter is Sr. Minister. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Haynes Hoffman; her sisters Gladis Rutledge, Daisy Cope, and LaVerne Richardson. She is survived by her 2 children, The Rev. Peggy D. Farris and husband Bill of Oklahoma City and Stephen Paul Hoffman along with Kathy Skelton of Springdale, Ark.; one sister Ozeta Bradford-Reeves; Grandchildren, Robert W. Farris and wife Ellen, Sandra Herbster and husband Greg, Jason Hoffman, Justin Hoffman, and Jeffery Hoffman; Step grandchildren, Belinda Jump and husband John, and Billy Farris and wife Sharon; Granddaughter-in-law, Maria Thomson and husband Toby; Great-grandchildren, Bryce Farris and wife Nadine, Katrina Farris, Chelsie Herbster and Cassady Herbster; Step great-grandchildren, Jeffery Ersland and wife Annie, Leslie Jump, Nicholas Breeding, and Jeffery Breeding. Also, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2008 from 2p-8p at Resthaven Funeral Home in Shawnee. Funeral services will be Monday, January 7, 2008 at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel in Shawnee with Rev. Glen Pence officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
