Peggy Davidson Obituary

Peggy Joyce Davidson died April 28, 2006 in Oklahoma City. She was born August 26, 1929 to Hollis and Nora Adams Dalton in Oglesby, Texas. She graduated from Waco High School and married John M. Davidson on June 6, 1947. She was a lifelong homemaker, raising two children as the family moved around Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma, following John's career in the mining and petroleum industries. Following John's death in 1985, Peggy spent her remaining years in Oklahoma City and Gage. During her final two years, Peggy was compassionately cared for by the staff of Brighton Gardens and Lion Hospice. Peggy had a passion for the Arts, both as an amateur painter and an enthusiastic supporter of local artists. She received recognition for over one thousand volunteer hours with the Contact Crisis Hotline. She was known as an authentic and loyal friend. She attended United Methodist Church of the Servant. She was guided throughout her life and guided her family by a core spiritual strength. Peggy was a creative and dedicated homemaker, with an eye for detail. She used her unique personality, sense of humor and style to enliven any environment. Her talents were often called upon to 'gussy up" the tables of many church benefits in her earlier years and later to artfully guide the design of Contact events. Peggy's idea of wealth was fresh-cut flowers on the table, coffee from a silver service, and clean bed linens every night. Peggy is survived by one daughter, Sherre Davidson of Stillwater; one son, John Kenneth Davidson, and his wife Jimi of Oklahoma City; one brother, Jim Dalton and his wife Carey of Waco, Texas; three granddaughters, Holly Kuster and husband, Aaron, Tara Davidson and Jordan Davidson, five nephews and two nieces and special companion Chuck Ranck of Gage, OK. The memorial service will take place at Smith & Kernke Chapel, on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at 3 PM. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association (1 North Hudson) or Lion Hospice (2601 NW Expy.) SMITH & KERNKE 14624 N. MAY AVE

Dear Sherre and family,

Your Mom certainly sounds like a great lady!! Of course anyone who likes flowers and decorating would be someone I would like to know. My thoughts are with you during this time of good-bye. Pam
