Phillip Reynolds Obituary

Phillip Patrick Reynolds of OKC, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007. He was born June 9, 1924, in Shawnee, one of eight children of Fred A. Reynolds and Bridget McMorrow Reynolds. He graduated from St. Benedict's High School in Shawnee. He was in the U.S. Navy, served in the Pacific during World War II, and was honorably discharged. He attended OU. He worked for several major oil companies and retired as an independent engineer in 1987. He was an avid sportsman and passionate golfer. He was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church on Nov. 11, 1988, served at St. Eugene's, St. Theresa's in Luther, and St. Robert Bellarmine in Jones, before returning as a permanent deacon at St. Eugene's. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children, Jan McLemore and husband Mike, and Jill Heitert and husband Bill, all of OKC, and Patrick Reynolds of Houston; and eight grandchildren, Sarah, Haley, and Michael McLemore, Lee Luetkemeyer and husband Jay, and Chrissy, Carrie, William and Phillip Heitert. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and two sisters. An evening prayer service will be Sunday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 pm. at St. Eugene Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Shawnee. Viewing will be Sunday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Ave. Contributions may be made in Pat's memory to St. Vincent DePaul or to St. Eugene's New Church Fund.
