Rachel Claudine Blevins

Rachel Claudine Blevins passed away at the age of 81 on November 29, 2005. Claudine will be remembered fondly: Sweet, unselfish and big-hearted; Vivacious, wise and witty; and a Christ-like witness, who turned a difficult childhood, into an extraordinary adulthood. If you met Claudine Blevins, you immediately loved her. Her priorities were simple. God, family and service to others. She was fiercely loyal to three devoted sons who loved her dearly. At 14, she met and fell in love with a lad named Dexter. The two married in an old-fashioned wedding as soon as he returned from the war. Words can not adequately describe the loving bond Claudine and Dexter enjoyed for almost 60 years. Claudine was born November 12, 1924 in Hollywood, AR. She was the daughter of Claude and Pauline McDaniel. Claudine's mother died when she was four. She overcame a harsh home environment to excel in many areas and went on to become valedictorian at Prescott High School. She is survived by her husband Dexter; three sons, Paul and wife Tina, Bill and wife Marsha, and Dean and wife Sarah; sister, Floy Kimbrough of St. Simon, GA; grandchildren, Britney, Brandon, Erin, Wes, Chris, Ross and Carson. Services will be held Friday, December 2, 2005, at Bethel Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Reverand James Ehrlich will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Norman.
