To the Ackerman Family; Please accept condolences from the children of Rubye Hibler Hall. Ray Ackerman supported all of her worthy causes; especially the Grandparents Academy. They were dear friends up until her death. Ray Ackerman was a civic giant/humanitarian and a great visionary. His vision helped to make Oklahoma City more wonderful and beautiful! Thank you and Rest in Peace, Ray Ackerman!

I'm married to Ray's first born Patsy we've been married for 26 years. Ray is exactly what you see in the video, an idea guy with a huge passion and heart for Oklahoma. Ray is a great man in my opinion he represents the heart and soul of Oklahoma and he is my wife's best friend. The picture attached was taken at Snoqualmie Falls on Ray's last visit to Seattle in 2004. In the picture Is Lou, Ray and Patsy. Ray we love you.

Admiral Ray was, and continues to be, an inspiration to me and to the development of the Oklahoma River (among many other OKC initiatives. His impact is appreciated every day by the hundreds of kids and families who enjoy the river and he will always be a part of the further dynamic development of OKC as a true "River City." Thank you, Ray, for your incredible vision and leadership - and your friendship, encouragement, and enthusiastic support to me through the years. "Old Man River" will be greatly missed, but I get to enjoy Ray greeting us at the river each day with his wonderful bronze statue, while he is surely smiling from above as he says a vibrant river alive with activity.

Learned a lot about business and life while employed at his ad agency many years ago. From ad executive to Rear Admiral and community service extraordinare, I still tell many stories from our personal association together especially one night while waiting on him in his office and thumbing through his Navy flight-log, found a one line entry on one page -- "Mid-air collision, ejected...." Great man and great life lived in the service of his fellow man.... OKC will miss you and your vision....

So sorry to hear about your dad. I always admired the respect that each of you had for your father. I have many fond memories of your dad coming home from work and imparting some words of wisdom on those of us happened to be around at your old home on Broadlawn Lake.
