Floyd, a longtime Oklahoma businessman, entrepreneur, civic leader and most importantly, loving family man who passed away Friday, June 9, 2017, in Norman, OK.Floyd, 81, was the founder of Floyd's Recreational Vehicles in Goldsby. He began selling campers in 1969 in Pauls Valley, then from a small rented lot on North Porter across from Norman Regional Hospital. The company soon outgrew that space and built on Interstate 35 in Goldsby, OK, where it remains today. Floyd was active in the national RV industry and was named to the Hall of Fame of Recreational Vehicle Dealers. He was also active in the state's tourism industry. He served 12 years on the RVDA National Board including three as an officer during the downturn of the early 80s. Rex, you will be greatly missed. I came into this family on August 10, 1973 when I married you beautiful cousin, Pam. I immediately felt that I was truly a part of a special family. I grew as a young adult in the midst of your family, and I knew that what I inherited through my marriage with Pam was truly special. My son, Daniel and Jeremy grew up side by side. Alan, like Jermey, became special to all of us. I was privileged to not only be related by marriage, but I was also blessed by both through their superb service to our nation in Afghanistan. While a feeling of service to the nation is personal, it also has to have a foundation comes from their background and heritage. That inspiration has to come from those they look up to. I knew that had to be you and Debbie, my cousin-in-law and their mother. You have been an inspiration to me and my family, and I am eternally grateful for the attitude of service that you provided to them. I know that there will be a special place in glory for you and those you have positively influenced through example, encouragement, inspritation and love for your God and country. You will be truly missed. I know that God will bless those who have been influenced by your witness and encouragement.

I was pleasured to meet Rex when I married his cousin, Pam, on August 10, 1973. I instantly became a member of his wonderful family, as Rex was a cousin to my wife, Pam. I was almost immediately accepted as a part of the great Dale family, and my life has been blessed with their presence since. I have grown to know Rex's children and great grandchildren. My life has been enriched by having all of them into my life. God has blessed me with their presence and influence. I will always think of him often, as he has been an influence in my life, and his family has been a blessing to Pam, Daniel and myself. I love you all, Myles

I first met Mr. Floyd over 20 years ago. I was in my early 20s and still fairly new to the industry. It was my first day in sales and Rex was my first sales call ever. I had heard from some local industry riff raff that Mr Floyd could be pretty hardcore therefore I was extremely nervous. Our meeting ended up turning out very well and Rex was extremely gracious. Over the years, Mr. Floyd was a loyal customer and he was always more than fair to me. I had recently hoped to get know him a little better but it just wasnt in the stars. Rex will always be a legend in the RV Industry and the impression he made on me will be one I will never forget. My wife and I would like to express our condolences to all of Rex"s family and friends.
