Richard McKnight Obituary

Richard I. McKnight, age 61, was born February 18, 1940 in Rochester, Pennsylvania and died September 1, 2001 at his home in Yukon. Richard recently moved to Yukon, and was a member of Christ's Church and Oklahoma City Traditional Music Association. He retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service and from Oklahoma Dept. of Libraries. In recent years Richard has lived at Lake Texoma and Moore, Oklahoma. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Ida McKnight; father, Harold McKnight; brother, Donald McKnight; and daughter, Kimbra Sue McKnight. He is survived by his wife, Judith, of the home; children, Timmie & Marvin Smith of Moore, OK, Brent McKnight of Altus, OK, Kenton & Amelia McKnight of Highland Village, TX, Dale & Jennifer McKnight of Dallas, TX, Leah & Mitch Manning of Yukon, OK, Glenda Nemecek of Yukon, OK and Donna Spaulding of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Michael and Christian Smith, Anthony, Andrew and Matthew McKnight and Kyle and Cassidy McKnight, Phillip and Suzie Spaulding, Molly and Mitchell Manning, Garrett and Kenzie Nemecek; sisters, Lillian Corbin of Rochester, PA, Janet & Ted Yoloyama of Largo, FL; brothers, Gail & Joan McKnight of Beaver, PA, Ray & Sara McKnight of Beaver, PA, Ronald and Doris McKnight of Arnold, PA, Stuart McKnight of North Canton, OH, Keith and Tina McKnight of Akron, OH. Memorial gifts may be made to Sherwood Shores Community Library, P.O. Box 544, Gordonville, TX 76245. Richard helped found the Sherwood Shores Library and was the first historian. Visitation is Tuesday, September 4, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2001 in the Yanda & Son Chapel. Interment is in Yukon Cemetery.
