Rosa Dell Jackson

Rosa Dell Jackson, 90, died Monday, July 10, 2006. She was born in Martin County, NC, July 18, 1915, daughter of the late Berry June Sessums and Ada Lee Carson Sessums. Her husband Berry Dixon Jackson, son, Rev. Richard Jackson, grandson, Johnnie Melvin Jackson and son-in-law, Larry A. Harper preceded her in death. She was a member of Christ Independent Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters and son-in-law, Marie and Clarence Jenkins of Rocky Mount, Ruth J. Harper of Waycross, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, William (Jack) and Earlene Jackson of Rocky Mount, Justa and Jackie Jackson of Charlotte, NC, Berry and Jennifer Jackson, and David and Carol Jackson of Rocky Mount, NC; daughter-in-law, Betsy Adams Jackson of Elm City, NC; twenty-three grandchildren; forty great- grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rachel Baker of Petersburg, Va., and brother, Baxter Sessums of Petersburg, Va.; special friends, Ruth Hodges and Ernestine Williams. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2006, at Johnson Funerals and Cremations, 1912 Sunset Avenue, Rocky Mount, NC, and other times at the home of the daughter, Marie Jenkins. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the funeral home with Rev. Allen Langley officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
