JOE RANKIN
January 1, 2011
ROY ROGERS WAS MY "JOHN WAYNE". HE WAS ALL MAN, FATHER, HUSBAND, AND MENTOR TO HIS FAMILY. HE ALWAYS WAS GIVING, AND PUT HIMSELF LAST. HE SET THE EXAMPLE, FOR US TO FOLLOW. OUR LAST CONVERSATION WAS 11-15-2010. I ONLY WISH I COULD HAVE SPENT MORE TIME WITH HIM. HE LOVED HIS BIBLE, AND ITS TEACHINGS. HE BELIEVED IN RESPECT. I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH, AND HE LEAVES A HUGE VOID IN MY LIFE. HE LOVED MY MOTHER, DOROTHY ROGERS (HIS SISTER), AND THANKED ME FOR MY CAREER IN THE MILITARY, FOR SERVING MY COUNTRY. I COULD NEVER HAVE A BETTER COMPLIMENT FROM A GREATER MAN. HE IS IRREPLACEABLE. HE WAS MY UNCLE. -JOE RANKIN.
