RUBY ALLBRIGHT Obituary

Aug. 5, 1929 - Jan. 27, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Ruby Lee Allbright of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 27th, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. Lee was born at Garr Corner, Oklahoma; her parents, Ed and Maye Little, ran the community grocery store in the area. Lee moved to Byng, Oklahoma in 1935 where her parents once again owned and operated a community grocery store. Lee attended Byng Public Schools and graduated in 1947 as an honor student. She attended East Central University and in 1949 was offered a job with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. Lee soon transferred to Oklahoma City, where she met her future husband Keith Allbright, and in 1950 they were married. Lee was a loving mother to her three sons, Steve Allbright, who preceded her in death in 1988, Mark Allbright who lives in Oklahoma City, and Guy Allbright who lives in Dallas, Texas. Lee is survived by her four grandchildren, Michael Allbright, the son of Steve and Chris, Anne and Julie, the children of Guy, five great grandchildren, and Liz McHam, her dearest friend. Preceded in death are her mother, father, and her brother Clifford Paul Little. Lee retired in 1997 from North American Insurance. After a `long' break of three months, Lee went back to work for Gary Johnston Building Company where she was employed for over ten years. Lee's warm and friendly personality was known by family and friends. Her passion was working in her yard and was known throughout the neighborhood for her beautiful flowers. Her family and friends will remember Lee as fun loving, outgoing, great cook, and the perfect host. Her love of life was an inspiration to all that knew her. Burial services will be at 10:00 AM on January 30th at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, located at 8701 Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City. In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America http://alzfdn.org/ in Lee's name would be appreciated. http//alzfdn.org/

My Aunt Lee was always quick with a smile, a family story that would keep you laughing for hours, and good southern hospitality that typically included friend Okra. He stories of growing up on the farm with my father were always hilarious, and typically at the expense of my father's dignity (which as his son, I always treasured...)

You are loved, remembered, and will be missed.

Lee was not only my mother-in-law but my good friend as well. Every Christmas, Easter, and other celebrations she would host wonderful warm parties always serving okra, brownies, and her special ice tea. Her sense of humor and quick wit was with her to the end. Sitting with Lee in her kitchen, listening to her childhood stories, and laughing until my sides ached will be a treasured memory forever. Love, Jacque
