Ruth Windes-Short Obituary

Ruth E Windes-Short1/20/38 - 12/26/2010Ruth Elaine Short or Ruthie, as she was known to her loved ones, was born on January 20, 1938 to Clarence and Pearl Windes. She grew up in Oklahoma City, surrounded by a large, loving family. Ruth had several jobs throughout her life, but no matter what she was doing, she always gave 100%, and whenever she left one job for another, she left a trail of friends behind. She just had that knack of making you feel special. Ruth met the love of her life, Keith, in 1970; they were polar opposites, but brought out the best in each other. They loved to travel and visited Vegas several times a year up until he passed away. Her constant companions in the later part of her life were her younger sister, Mary, and her lil dog with a big attitude (Sissy), whom she loved and cared for just like she did her sons and the rest of her family. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Keith Jorgensen; her grandson, Wayne Tincher; her father, Clarence Stanley Windes; her mother, Pearl Edith (Wells) Windes; 5 brothers: Robert, Otis, Jack, Guy, and Harold Adkisson; and 3 sisters: Edith (Adkisson) Wise, Norma (Adkisson) Wise, Sandra (Windes) King. She is survived by 2 sisters: Mary (Windes) Wise, and Margie (Windes) Foster: 2 sons: Clarence Short, and Ronnie Short; 8 grandchildren: Cynthia, Shelly, Clinton, Micheal, Brandy, CJ, Ronnie, and Stephanie; and 13 great-grandchildren; along with numerous other friends and family. Ruth was a very special lady and will be missed and remembered forever.
