My condolences to the Mobly Family on the loss of Sammie. He was a good man that worked hard to take care of his family and contribute to his community. Sam was blessed with a wonderful family and they were blessed to have him.
In the early 1970s I worked with Sam at the MHS Sports Fieldhouse, where we both took pride in making our football field the best looking turf in the area. It was hard work at times, but we enjoyed it too.
As I remember it, Sam loved his coffee and would have a cup, or two, or three, or…..all day long. Maybe that's why he was so jittery at times.
Sam taught me how to pitch quarters. Rather, I should say he'd pitch quarters and I'd donated, because Sam usually won. After winning a pitch, I can still hear Sam say “Ooh right…!” Then he'd laugh, shake/rattle his pocket full of quarters, and say “wanta go again?”…… If they allow pitching quarters in Heaven, I'm sure Sam will be the winner more times than not. However, watch out Sam because I've been practicing. I'll see you again someday, so be ready to pitch some quarters....
I'm glad I had opportunity to speak with Sam a few weeks ago by telephone. Because he was feeling so poorly we only spoke for a minute or two, just long enough to share a laugh together. It was good to hear him laugh. I hung up the phone knowing that through it all, Sam still hadn't lost his sense of humor.
May God continue to bless and watch over the Mobly Family…..

You will be so missed, Sam! Doug & I met you in 1978...I remember how you used to give April M&M's and a coke at all of the MHS basketball games! You always had a smile on your face and hugged my neck! You were loved by many! See you in Paradise!!

To Shirley and Family, Sam made his mark on his job, church, & family. Everything he did, he did with gusto. We have worked with him, gone to church with him and happy to have known him. When we all get to heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be to see him, family and friends as we worship and adore our Heavenly Father. Blessing to y'all at this sad time here on this earth. Because of Him, the Satterlee's

Goodbye "Slats", I bet there was no one to call you that for a long time now, say Hi to my Mom and Dad for me. Prayers and blessings for your family.

Although I didn't know Sam, my uncle, Duane Crawford, and my mom spoke fondly of him. My thoughts and prayers for you during this difficult time.
