Sandra Lightner Obituary

Sandra Kay, age 57, of Chickasha, OK, passed away and went to be with the Lord on February 11, 2002. She was born in Chickasha on June 25, 1944 and was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She graduated from Cook County High School in Prineville, Oregon. Sandra was co-owner of Lightner's Discount Foods with her husband Darrell Lightner. Sandra is survived by her husband Darrell Lightner, five children; Paul Lightner, Stephanie Sanders and husband Ray, Trevor Lightner, Drew Lightner and Melissa Lightner and seven grandchildren; Lauren-Elaine, Olivia, Joshua, Isaac, Emily Rose, 'new baby' Sanders and Hunter. Other survivors include her mother, Edith Orr, brothers; Dick Orr and his wife Yvonne, and Jim Orr, aunts; Hazel Taylor, Helene Waldron, and Corene Black, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Her father, Robert Orr, Aunt Thelma Nance, and grandparents, Dick and Annie Brunt preceded her in death. Sandra will always be remembered as a loving wife, caring mother and devoted friend. She loved to laugh, was generous to all, and especially enjoyed taking her grandchildren shopping. She was an active member of the Southern Oaks Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am. Friday, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, with Ray Sanders officiating and Stephen Parker assisting. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Tim Christian, Cody Christian, Nick Christian, Royce Terry, Carl Alexander and Mike Austin. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Keith Brush and Neil O'Neal. Music selection will be 'God's Family', 'Wonderful Marvelous Love', 'Never Grow Old', 'Precious Memories', How Great Thou Art', 'Amazing Grace', 'One Day at a Time' and 'Ten Thousand Angels'. Memorial contributions can be sent in the name of Sandra Lightner to: Resurrection House, 910 W. Chickasha Avenue, Chickasha, OK, 73018.
