Dutta, Ph.D. Oct. 25, 1931 - Oct. 31, 2015 OKLAHOMA CITY Dr. Seshachalam Dutta, born Oct. 25, 1931, died Oct. 31, 2015. He had his early education in India with a master's degree in botany from Birla College, Pilani, India. He was chairman of the Botany Department at V.R. College in Nellore, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in biochemistry from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Seshachalam then came to the USA in 1967. He became an Assistant Professor at the Creighton Medical School in Omaha, NE as well as an Associate Professor in Pediatrics at Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He has lived in Oklahoma City for over 40 years. Seshachalam was very active in local community and Temple. Member of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. He was a very learned man with extensive knowledge in Hindu culture, Indian politics of his time as well as American politics. Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Vondel Smith North Colonial Chapel.
