STEVE MEAD Obituary

Jan 3, 1955 - Nov 11, 2014 GUTHRIE Steve Allen Mead, age 59, was born on Jan. 3, 1955. He passed away Nov. 11, 2014, at his home in Guthrie. Steve attended Banner School in Guthrie and later, went on to Jr. High at Mulhall- Orlando. Steve had two children from his first marriage, Julie Renee and David Franklin. Steve moved to Perry, OK, where he met and fell in love with Gay Nell Ely; they married in 1996. They loved each other dearly and enjoyed spending time together fishing, playing with their cats and making people laugh. Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Gay Nell; father, David; paternal grandparents, Frank and Christina Mead; maternal grandparents, Ed and Opal Cox; sister, Leslie Gail Horner; stepsister, Cynthia Burgess; and his stepfather, Bill "Sonny" Burgess. He leaves to mourn his passing his son, David and wife Alysia, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Julie Neil and her children, Sarah Bean and Jack Neil, of Yukon; his mother, Delcy Burgess, of Mulhall, OK; six brothers, Kevin Mead, Nathan Mead and wife Jonna, Tony Mead, Junior Burgess, Ricky Burgess and wife Betsy, and Shawn Burgess; eight sisters, Terry Mead, Nedra Fogelman and husband Josh, Billi Jo Robinson, Georganna Burgess, Rocky Burgess, Kristy Burgess, Rachel Burgess, and Katrina Overfors and husband Zack; many aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews; and a host of friends. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 at Highpointe Church, 6810 N.W. 122nd St., OKC, OK. A bus will be available for the trip to the service leaving at 11:30 from the Mulhall grade school. Anyone needing to ride the bus can make reservations by calling 405-649-2472 or 405-282-3779 no later than noon on Friday, Nov. 28.
