I was very saddened at hearing of the passing away of Tom, the last time I saw him we had an arm wrestling contest (which Tom won). Tom and I were good friends at Heritage Hall, even though when together, we were generally up to mischief of an entertaining sort. The world needs more men like Tom Tarpley, you will be missed Tom.

We were & are Tom's next door neighbors and we are devastated to hear of his passing. He was good friend and good neighbor. We will truly miss watching him work in his yard, wearing his black gloves and making karate moves. Please pass our deepest condolences on to his wife Anna and his family in Oklahoma. Respectfully yours, Troy & Tosha Jones

So sorry to hear about Tom's passing. I too was a fraternity brother of his at OU and, as I recall fondly, I ran into "Tenacious" usually after hours...in the kitchen at the SAE house. We spent many a Friday and/or Saturday night cooking up everything we could find - accompanied by lots of laughs and good times. My sympathy to Tom's wife and family. We'll miss the big guy.

Tom and I were Sigma Alpha Epsilon pledge brothers at OU. I remember Tom as a good natured gentleman who enjoyed a good time. He had a great sense of humor and was very humble. His humility was admirable in a group of cocky college boys who thought we ruled the world. He will be missed by us all.
