Victor Sanchez

Victor M. Sanchez, 86, passed away March 31, 2010. He was born in Cement, OK, February 23, 1924 to Canuto and Magdelene Sanchez. He is preceded is death by his wife, Emma Gene Sanchez; parents; brother, Phillip Sanchez; sister, Virginia Thompson; daughter, Diana Sanchez; granddaughter, Kendra Martin, and two stepsons, Freddie Linn and Bobby Linn. He moved to Lawton at a young age and spent his years there until drafted in 1946. He was stationed at the Panama Canal where he served as a medic. After serving in the army, he moved to OKC and went to work for Armour and Company until his first retirement in 1968, he then moved to Harrah is 1970, where he raised his family and established his home. He began a second career as the first maintenance man for the 7 Eleven Stores starting in 1981 for 25 years until his retirement in 2006. He then enjoyed taking care of his acreage and occasionally traveling. He is survived by daughter, Vickie Whomble and husband Jimmy of OKC; daughter, Carol Sanchez of Norman, OK; daughter, Phyllis Whomble of OKC; son, Terry Sanchez and wife Linda of Harrah; granddaughter, Kelly Wylie and husband Andy and great-granddaughter, Kaeylarae of Santa Teresa, New Mexico; grandson, Kenneth Martin of OKC; granddaughter, Debra Hanna and husband Ken of Ft. Smith, AR; granddaughter, Sheila Bradley of Ft. Smith, AR. The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to Geri Mixon and family for their friendship throughout the years. His service has been set for 10am, April 3, 2010, at Candlewood Chapel with burial to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of Ford Funeral Service.
