To all of Bill's family,
I was a friend of Bill's from his Grand Canyon days. I visited him several times at Capitol Reef, at Lee's Ferry and many times at his place in Sedona. I even visited him in OK City once and Bill gave me a wonderful tour of the city. Some things I remember about Bill besides his great friendship are his BMW, his extensive Southwestern library along with an undying curiosity about the Southwest, his Old Crow, his love of jazz, his sense of humor and, above all, his enduring love for the lands of the West no matter where he roamed... I can still remember his tales of hiking in the Wind River range in Wyoming as a younger man. Yet despite all of his time in the out-of-doors, Bill never looked ruffled. His park service uniform was always pressed and his shoes always shined. Even when 'casual', Bill was always put together -- a true gentleman. Bill was a wonderful friend and always spoke so proudly of his family. My thoughts are with all of you during this time.

To Lisa, Joe, Carol, Will, Barbara & Bob:
Thank you for keeping in touch with me during this sad time. Bill was my best friend and I will miss him terribly. I have wonderful memories to reflect on and I know he will be with me in spirit every time I am at the Grand Canyon. My prayers and thoughts go out to you all.

Dear Lisa, Joe, Carol and Will,

I know we will all miss your father. He had great life, made even better by his loving children.

He always had something good to say to me.

I'll miss seeing him and his wry sense of humor.

You are all in my thoughts

Sincerely,
Jay Padesky
