Neighbor/Patient

June 9, 2016

David had been a neighbor and our dentist. He was kind, generous, and thoughtful. He came over and did drywall one weekend, gave free dental on more than one occasion, and one day as patient a lady came in that had been assaulted by her husband. With David's big voice I could hear him in the back that there would be no charge so not to worry about anything and to call if she needed anything. He was quite simply a "good man".

My Dad worked with Gary and when David started his practice we went to him. He always had a smile and would ask about Mom and Dad even if he was going to see them the next day. He always told me that I wasn't wired right. He will truly be missed

I worked for David as a Dental Hygienist in his OLD office - The Old House. I can't say enough about what a wonderful Dentist and employer he was. He made his office a relaxed feeling for his patients, employees and yet maintained a professional attitude at all times. I'm so sorry the community has lost a wonderful professional. And most of all, I'm so sorry to his family and close friends.

Dave was my classmate, my roommate and my study buddy all through dental school. We covered emergency calls for each other these 33 years of practice. Dave was a great dentist.Dave was my dentist. Dave was one of the nicest people in the world. Dave was one of the funnest people in the world. Dave was my friend. This breaks my heart. Heaven got Dave too soon. There better be a lot of lakes and boats in heaven.

I remember the first time I went to see Dr. Besser. He was just starting his practice and was seeing patients for $5.00 a cleaning, to get his business going.
I told him that my daughter was coming of age to need to see the dentist for the first time and I was "shopping" for a good, gentle dentist, as the one I had been seeing was not gentle enough. He cleaned my teeth, and sat back and asked how he had done. I told him he was the first dentist I had tried and I was done shopping !! He had done a great job and was so kind. He was my daughter's only dentist, and she is 33 years old now.
Many of my family members went to him, and we all enjoyed our visits and knew that he would take good care of us. We will miss him greatly, not just as a dentist, but as a friend.
