Denise Searcy Obituary

Denise Hughes Searcy, 62
Louisville
Denise Hughes Searcy was called to heaven Sept. 8,2021 in her home after fiercely battling cancer. She was the widow of Roger Searcy who she shared many loving years with before his death in 2010.

"DeeDee" was an avid antiquer and yard seller, a hobby she shared with her beloved Roger. She also cherished her dogs, enjoyed vacationing to the beach, tropical cocktails, and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered by her loved ones for always being kind, having a smile on her face, a funny sense of humor, and just her overall fun-loving personality.
She is preceded in death by parents Ann Wilson and Doug Hughes; spouse, Roger Searcy; in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Searcy; and her sister in-laws, Ginger and Daisy Hughes.
She is survived by her stepfather, Charles Wilson; stepmother Phyllis Hughes; brothers Grant Hughes (Edna), Greg Hughes, Gary Hughes; nephew, Justin Hughes (Sami) which she considered a son; their children, Aiden and Payton, which she considered her grandchildren; her lifelong friends, Tammy Chambers, Angela Campbell Akers; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
Her memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the John W. Black Community Center, 1551 KY-393, La Grange, KY 40031.Memorial donations may be made to The Kentucky Humane Society at www.kyhumane.org/donate.

I worked with Denise for several years at Whayne Supply. She had a wonderful sense of humor and her laugh was one that was contagious. So sorry for your loss.
