So sorry to read of "Mr.Briscoe" as we always called him passing. We were lucky enough to have him teach all of our three children (now adults with their own families) the joy of soccer. His patients and enthusiasm left a life long mark on their lives. "The McCormick Family"

Uncle John was our family historian. A storyteller, he graciously edited and retold the tales of our family adventures. He clearly described the character and intent, generous and kind, interesting, and so often humorous. The salmon expedition, the war years, his brother's sea adventures, his sisters' beloved families, his dear daughters and their families, the gardens tended, the histories of shops he frequented, the guiding questions, “Just what is …? How do you …? Did you know …?”---all to pull us in and attend to his rich knowledge of the world in which we live. Though our family reaches across the miles of sea and land—from Canada to England, to the States, to New Zealand and back, we are bonded with our stories and gifted by the courageous traveler every fortunate now and then visiting and sharing these wondrous stories. A grand and generous man, he has gifted us the treasures of our family histories.

So sorry to read about John's passing.Met in the 70's at St. Michaels. He was raising his daughters, working, gardening, dancing, a busy person but always had a moment to talk. We have many fond memories. He shall be missed.
