John Brockman Obituary

John C. Brockman, 68
Crestwood
John C. Brockman rounded third and headed for home on April 20, 2023, just one day after his 68th birthday. Often found in a Hawaiian shirt, even if it wasn't casual Friday, John thoroughly enjoyed spreading his kindness to others and making sure anyone around him had a smile on their face. He retired from North American Stainless after 24 years in November 2022. Although a short period of time, he spent his retirement continuing to spread his kindness and watching a lot of SportsCenter to soak up his favorite sports. He was a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan and had every U2 album memorized by heart.
John grew up in Crestwood, Ky. and graduated from Oldham County High School where he was a member of the state championship soccer team. Throughout his life he was an avid gardener, collected stamps and loved model trains.
John is preceded in death by his parents, James and Madge Brockman of Crestwood, Ky. and his second wife, April Brockman (nee Harmon). John and April are survived by April's son, Corey. John is survived by his brother, Mark Brockman (Judy) of La Grange, Ky.; his sister, Karen Greenwell (Steve) of Smithfield, Ky.; and their respective children and grandchildren who John loved seeing photos of at Christmas.
John is also survived by his three children, Michael Brockman (John Wheatley) of Madison, Wis., Brian Brockman of Columbus, Wis. and Stephanie Brockman (Coriell Lewis) of Dayton, Ky. He absolutely adored Michael, Brian and Stephanie who he raised in Oldham County with his first wife, Margaret James (Jonathan) of Crestwood, Ky.
In addition, he leaves behind many friends he considered and treated just like family in the Carrollton and English community, where he was a proud member of English Baptist Church.
A service in John's honor was held Monday, April 24 at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home, led by John's brother, Pastor Mark Brockman, followed by burial at English Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations are made in John's honor to the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund (online at: https://www.mlb.com) or to Relay For Life (https//donate.cancer.org). Graham-Dunn Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

We are so grateful to have known John and been inspired to be bold in our faith as he took every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others. We are thankful for his life and example, and service to our Lord and English Baptist Church.
