Patricia Stewart Obituary

Patricia "Patty" Anne Stewart, 62
LOUISVILLE

Patricia "Patty" Anne Stewart, age 62, of Louisville, Ky., passed away peacefully at home on Sept. 13, 2025, after a courageous two-year battle with ALS. Even after her diagnosis, Patty remained joyful and upbeat, often seen with a smile on her face.
Patty was born on April 17, 1963, in Denver, Colo., and raised in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of James and Virginia Elliot. She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1985 with a degree in Food Science. While at Illinois, she was a proud member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, where she formed lifelong friendships. It was also there that she met her husband, Paul. The two were married for 38 years, sharing a life full of adventures and unwavering support for each other and their family.
After graduating, Patty worked in quality assurance roles with Pillsbury and Nabisco before focusing on raising her family. She served as team mom and assistant coach for numerous teams, including tennis and speech and debate, taught Sunday school and held leadership roles in the PTA, including president. She was known for her kindness, willingness to help, and her ability to bring people together.
Once her children were raised, Patty returned to the professional world as a construction coordinator for Mason Construction and Development. For 15 years, she was a valued member of their team, helping build premier custom homes.
Patty had many passions outside her family. She was an avid tennis player, often at the courts three to four times a week before her diagnosis. She loved her dogs, was an enthusiastic reader and enjoyed binge-watching shows and taking afternoon naps with her pets. She also enjoyed theatre, particularly musicals and loved seeing them with friends and family. Patty valued her friendships and was an active member of birthday clubs, book clubs, bunco groups and tennis teams, always making everyone feel welcome and appreciated.
She is survived by her loving husband, Paul; her three children, Tyler, Matthew (Vena) and Abigail; her sister, Carolyn (Rod) Lewis; and her brother, Tom (Ellen) Elliot. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Virginia Elliot.
A funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in La Grange on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. Following the Mass, friends and family are invited to the Live Like Patty Celebration from 3 - 6 p.m. at 3rd Turn Oldham Gardens in Crestwood, Ky.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Team Gleason or the Humane Society of Oldham County in Patty's honor.
