Alice King Obituary
CATTARAUGUS - Alice S. King, 92, of Cattaraugus, passed away Saturday (Dec. 27, 2025).
She was born June 2, 1933, in Otto, daughter of the late William and Reva Hart Emke. On Aug. 17, 1951, she married Benny King, who predeceased her in 2015.
For many years, Mrs. King worked at Tri-County Hospital in Gowanda in housekeeping.
She was a longtime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Otto, and loved rooting on the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and crocheting.
Mrs. King is survived by three sons, Robert (Joanne) King, Ricky (Cindy) King and Timothy (Mary) King, all of Cattaraugus; and three daughters, Vicky (late Wayne Church) Edgar of East Otto, Debbie (Dale) Schiller of Katy, Texas and Sherri (Mark) Marcus of Cattaraugus. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, Alice is predeceased by two sons, Pat Wilbur and Gene King; one brother, Harold Emke; and four sisters, Hattie Graves, Maryanne Rohwer, Joyce Stevens and Hazel Eaton.
Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday (Jan. 6, 2026) from Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St. in Little Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, from the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Otto. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cattaraugus Ambulance Service or Immanuel Lutheran Church.
