OLEAN - Ann Marie Diffenderfer passed away unexpectedly Wednesday (April 23, 2025), surrounded by her family and friends, at Olean General Hospital.

Ann Marie was born June 4, 1947, in Olean. She was the daughter of the late John and Helen Fidurko Kendzior. On August 26, 1967, she married James Diffenderfer, who predeceased her Dec. 2, 1994.

She was a graduate of Olean High School.

She was a lifelong member of the women's auxiliary at the Pulaski Club.

She loved her family deeply and supported all they did within the community, especially sporting events, which she rarely missed. Being with her family brought happiness to her life. She enjoyed simple pleasures, doing puzzles and reading as much as she could until the sun shone and she could be outside, tending to plants or just spending time on the porch. She truly loved the company of others and was a constant source of joy in anyone's life, which is irreplaceable until we meet her again.

Ann Marie is survived by her two sons, Steve Diffenderfer and Michael Diffenderfer of Olean; three grandchildren, Trystan (Ashley) Diffenderfer of Alaska, and Lacee and Kaylee Pearl of Olean; one great-grandchild, Jackson McDow of Olean; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Helen; her husband, James; her long-time companion, Ed Wyviorka; and two brothers and their wives, Donald (Big Soupy) and Rosella Kendzior, and Jackie (Little Soupy) and Linda Kendzior.

Per Ann Marie's request, there will be no formal services; a celebration of her life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cattaraugus County SPCA, 2944 Route 16N, Olean, NY 14760.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Guenther Funeral Home Inc., 1303 E. State St., Olean.
