Brian E. Lowry
BOLIVAR - Brian E. Lowry, 69 of 185 Olive St., Bolivar, passed away Monday (May 6, 2024) at Highland Park Rehab-ilitation and Nursing Center, after a brief illness.
Born Aug. 8, 1954, in Islip, he was a son of Robert and Loretto Ann McEvoy Lowry. On July 23, 2008, in Bolivar, he met the former Peggy A. Nolan, who survives, and they were just recently married on April 17, 2024.
Brian was a graduate of Sayville High School. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army serving from 1975-79.
He had worked in air conditioning, was a painter for 25 years, and when he relocated to Western New York he became a truck driver, driving for different companies until his retirement from Strong Trucking in Tunkhannock, Pa.
He was a member and had been a bartender for the Kenyon Andrus Post 772 American Legion, Bolivar.
He loved golfing, was a football fan with his favorite team being the Minnesota Vikings, loved spending time with his grandchildren, and enjoyed practical jokes and making people laugh.
In addition to his mother, Loretto of Sayville; and wife, Peggy; he is survived by two sons, Timothy (Misty Smith) Lowry of Olean and Jason (Darcy) Lowry of Perry; his stepchildren, Douglas (Monica) Ward of Friendship, Amanda Ward of Friendship and Rebecca Pangburn of Wirt; a special daughter-in-law, Samantha (William) Fowler of Bolivar; three grandchildren, Greyson and Chaelyn Lowry and Camryn Lowry; nine step-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Jarret Ward, Kirsten, Kiley and Brock Calhoun, and Mark Jr., Zane and Claire, and Piper Pangburn; three brothers, Paul Lowry of Bolivar, Peter Lowry of Sayville and Tommy (Annmarie Hamilton) Lowry of Sayville; a sister, Loretta Lowry of Sayville; three sisters-in-law, Janet Lowry of Blue Point, Gay Lowry of Holbrook and Jodi (Chad) Adams Kingston of Georgia; two brothers-in-law, James (Darren) Fisher of Salamanca and Russel (Mirta) Fisher of Salamanca; father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Alma Fisher of Salamanca; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by a son, Eric Lowry; two brothers, Kevin and Bobby Lowry; and a sister-in-law, Ellen Lowry.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday (May 8, 2024) at the Mark F. Rinker Funeral Home & Memorial Service, Inc., 554 S. Main St., Bolivar. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. David Herne will officiate.
