Christine Bell Obituary

Christine Marie Bell, loving mother, wife, grandma, daughter, and friend

OLEAN - Christine Bell, 59, passed away on June 30, 2025, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a long illness, with loving family by her side.

Christine was born May 11, 1966, to her mother Nadine Rhinehart and her father Robert Dutton. She attended Hinsdale Central School, graduating in 1984. Christine married her high school sweetheart Scott Bell in 1987; he survives.

Christine enjoyed crocheting, she made the most beautiful blankets for her family. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her friends and family, hosting recipe parties, camping where she was the camp mom/boss to all her friends and family, playing Uno and Rummy where she "never cheated" and most of all spending time with her grandkids, whom she loved with her whole heart.

She worked at Eaton-Cooper Power Systems, always helping anyone in need, she led her company charity committee up until her retirement in 2015. Upon her retirement, her full-time job switched to that of full-time grandma, where she was always with her grandchildren, making new traditions and unforgettable memories.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years Scott Bell; her mother and stepfather, Nadine Rhinehart and Norm Rhinehart; sons Joshua (Tiffany) Bell and Matthew (Jennifer) Bell; Bruce Farr and Chris DeHart, whom she thought of as sons; five grandchildren, Hannah, McKenzie, Evan, Abby and Emma Bell; two sisters, Brenda and Pam Dutton; brothers-in-law Mark, Tim (Jane), Steve (Nicole), Paul and Peter (Patricia) Bell; sisters-in-law Kathy (Steve) Wagner and Jill Finch; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, her camp children (nieces and nephews) and numerous friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Robert Dutton, maternal grandparents, Helen and Lennis Yaw; paternal grandparents, Blanche (Grammie) and Harold Dutton; and in-laws, Robert (Grumps) and Annette Bell.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Guenther Funeral Home, Inc. 1303 E. State St. Olean. Funeral services will be Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home, burial to follow in the Five Mile Cemetery, Allegany.
