Cynthia A. McCarthy-Fox of 518 1st Avenue, passed away on October 2, 2021, after a long illness.

Born on December 5, 1953, Cindy was the daughter of Eugene (Big Mac) and Patricia Stavish McCarthy. On October 1, 1977 she married Lawrence Fox, who passed on December 10, 1999. She lived next door to her in-laws for over 30 years, LaDorna (currently in the Pines of Olean) and Roger Fox (predeceased her).

Cindy graduated from Olean High School in 1971 and Olean Business Institute in 1973. She worked for Community Bank, The Pulaski Club, AVX Ceramics and lastly at CABOCES in Olean for 27 ½ years.

Cindy was an avid Buffalo Bill's fan since the days the games were held at the Rock Pile. She was a season ticket holder for over 30 years and until her death. She also attended training camps in Fredonia and St. John Fischer College following her favorite players. She attended several Enshrinement Ceremonies in Canton, OH. Attending with busloads of fans to see Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, James Lofton and Marv Levy when they became enshrined. She was very well known to the players in Jim Kelly era especially Steve Tasker. She still received a yearly Christmas card from the Tasker family. She was able to talk to Steve and Sara Tasker before her death and was very pleased that they took time out of their day to talk to her.

Cindy was also very active in the Hunter's Hope Charities raising thousands of dollars for Jim Kelly's son, Hunter. She was always attending yearly Hunter's Hope Galas. Cindy was the type of person that spent countless hours fund raising for different charities without people having a clue. That was the type of person she was.

In Cindy's earlier years she was an avid bowler and was top of her field in bowling. Winning many tournaments at all area bowling alleys. Cindy was also an avid CB'er in the 70's and met her husband Larry at a CB club that met at Coral Lanes. Her handle was Cinderella Miss and Larry's was Desert Fox. Cindy was involved with the local TOPS chapter for over 40 years, always as an officer. She was also a member of the Pulaski Club Ladies Auxiliary.

Cindy is survived by her siblings, Linda Minnemeyer of Olean, Mary McCarthy of Olean and James (Mary Lynn) McCarthy of Hoschton, GA.; four nieces, Teri L. Minnemeyer of Melbourne, Australia, Kristen (Scott) Bradshaw and Laura (David) Barry of Lawrenceville, GA., Anna McCarthy of Hoschton, GA; two nephews, Patrick and Caleb McCarthy of Hoschton, GA.; five great nephews and nieces of Lawrenceville, GA.

Cindy had several close friends, Lynn Kuc, her craft co-op vendors, her TOPS sisters, her Bill's group (TWO BILL'S DRIVE) that she attended games with.

No visitation will be held at the request of Cindy. There will be a private burial at the McCarthy family plot at St. Bonaventure Cemetery at a later time.

Cindy had a great love for all animals. She lived with her sister's cats, Gracie and Smudgie, which she was especially fond of. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the local SPCA's (Cattaraugus and McKean County) and Joyful Rescues.
