Daniel Cheverette Obituary
TONAWANDA - Daniel Maurice Cheverette, aged 94, from Tonawanda, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022.
Dan was a man that went by many names: Danny, Chevy, New York Dan, Old Man, Uncle Danny and Grampa Dan. He was a cement mason in New York state until retirement, when he became a master craftsman with all things wood.
Dan was an avid sailor as well as a poker player. He enjoyed reading almost as much as he enjoyed watching television. Many may not know, but Dan was the inventor of dehydrated water as well as fat free lard. He sure was something and he will be greatly missed. We love you Dan.
He is survived by his sister, Jane Ross; his daughters, Sue (Dave) Dreier and Jean (Rod) Liddle; his grandchildren, Renee and John Wilhoit, Maggie (Andrew) Derkovitz, Dan (Sarah Davis) Dreier and Chris (Kelly) Dreier; and his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Brody, Leona, Roman Wilhoit and Maverick Derkovitz.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; sons David and Michael; as well as his parents, Maurice and Bertha Cheverette.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to either of Dan's favorite charities, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

I loved this great man. Danny was my mentor and taught me how to be a good cement finisher. I have worked with many very talented cement finishers in my day but none could surpass the quality and workmanship of Chevy. More than that Danny taught me how to judge right from wrong. Chevy was a great husband and Father and never allowed anyone to do wrong to Himself, His Family, or His Friends. Danny allowed me to hunt on His property in Rushford for many years and for this I am forever grateful but I am most grateful for all that Chevy taught me on how to judge right from wrong. To those who reads this: that anyone who influenced a young kid (Brother) in all the good that Danny taught me, God surely has a high place in Paradise assigned to Him. I love You my Big Brother Dan and I await the time that I too may be able to be together with You again in Heaven
