LITTLE VALLEY --- Darylene M. Whitcomb, 73, of Little Valley, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at her home. She was born on July 22, 1951 in Salamanca, daughter of the late Lynn and Hollie (Chamberlain) Smith. On October 21, 1988 she married Daryl Whitcomb, who survives.

She was a devout Christian, having been a 35 year member of the Valley View Baptist Church in Little Valley where she taught Sunday School. For nearly 50 years, she taught many after-school bible clubs at the Cattaraugus, Little Valley, Ellicottville, and Salamanca schools. She also taught bible clubs at the Salamanca Nursing Home.

Besides her loving husband of 36 years, Darylene is survived by a son, Darin Ray (Angela) Mitchell of West Valley, and a daughter, Michelle Rae (Scott) Eaton of Poland, OH, as well as two step-sons; Daryl Whitcomb of Fairport, and Brian Whitcomb of Fairport. Also surviving is a brother, Jay (Barb) Smith of East Otto, and two sisters; Terry Lynn (Paul) Rinko of Ellicottville, and Tami Jo Smith of Fairport, as well as five grandchildren; Braydan, Isabella, Alexis, Max, and Cole, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 4-7 pm at the Valley View Baptist Church, 5416 Route 353, Little Valley, NY.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 10 am from the church.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Ellicottville.
