DeeDee Vanicek Obituary
NUNDA - DeeDee Marie James Vanicek, a former resident of Nunda, died Thursday (July 18, 2024) in Noyes Memorial Hospital, Dansville, surrounded by her family.
She was born June 8, 1968, in Cuba, a daughter of Butch and Laura Clark James.
DeeDee was a former self-employed homecare LPN. She enjoyed riding her motorcycle, reading, sightseeing and most of all, hiking in Letchworth State Park.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her sons, Jordan (Jenn) James of Nunda, Nathanial (Riley) Spencer of Dalton and Dakota (Kimberly) James of Hunt; four granddaughters, Willow James, Mia Suko, Nadia Spencer and Mila Spencer; her siblings, Jeremy (Denise) James of Hunt, Jay (Debbie) James of Portageville, Charity (Jeffrey) Ross of Wayland, Rebecca (Todd) Clinton of Nunda and Laurita (Kelly) Denby of Nunda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by several aunts and an uncle.
A funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, in the Short Tract Fire Hall, where a Celebration of Life will continue until 5 p.m. Paul Palmer, pastor of the Oakland Wesleyan Church, will officiate.
Memorials if desired may be made to the American Lung Association, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Kopler-Williams Funeral Home, 21 N. Genesee St., Fillmore.
