Gilbert Prey Obituary

NAPOLI - Gilbert A. Prey, 79, of Route 242 passed away Friday (April 6, 2012) at his home.

He was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Orchard Park, a son of the late Irving and Evelyn Winch Prey. On Nov. 28, 1952, he married the former Ruth Rakus, who survives.

Mr. Prey was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed at Otis Steel in Ellicottville and Setterstix in Cattaraugus.

He had attended the Napoli United Methodist Church, was a member of the Appaloosa Horse Club and was an avid outdoorsman.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he is survived by two daughters, Ann Marie Wright of Dover, Del., and Becky Sue Stefanik of Hamburg; three grandchildren, Cody Arrigo, Heather Kailee Wright and Sofia Prey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Irving Prey; and a sister, Marylin Hunsaker.

Memorials may be made to the Little Valley Memorial Library.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley.
